Carnival Cruise Line’s second-oldest ship, the Carnival Elation entered drydock in Freeport, Bahamas on January 21, 2023.
The Carnival Elation’s hull will be freshly painted with the new Carnival livery, parts of the ship will be updated and upgraded and routine hotel maintenance will take place. The ship is expected to be in drydock until February 10.
This will be the first dry dock for Carnival Elation since the spring of 2020. During that drydock, several venues were remodeled and the ship received Bonsai Sushi Express, the JavaBlue Café, Alchemy Bar as well as 30 new staterooms on the ship’s Promenade Deck where the Cole Porter aft lounge used to be.
Following the drydock, the Carnival Elation will embark on a series of cruises in the Bahamas ranging from four to five nights. On February 16, the ship will set sail on a roundtrip from Jacksonville, Florida with calls in Nassau and Princess Cays, Bahamas.
The Carnival Elation will continue to sail to the Bahamas throughout 2023 visiting Freeport, Bimini Islands and Princess Cays.
