Ambassador Cruise Line announced its drydocking plans for its second ship, the Ambition.
The company said that Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven has won the drydocking contract for the Ambition and that the ship will head to Germany on April 1, 2023, according to a press release.
Lloyd Werft will work environmental upgrades on the Ambition that will make the ship IMO Tier III compliant.
While in Germany, the Ambition will also get a new Ambassador branding, as well as undergo venue improvements and furnishing upgrades.
The Ambition’s official christening ceremony is scheduled to take place in Newcastle, England on May 11, 2023, and Shirley Robertson OBE will have the honor of christening the ship.
The Ambition’s inaugural 14-night Hidden Gems of France and Spain voyage will depart from the Port of Tyne on the following day, May 12, 2023. The ship will make calls in Cherbourg, France; Brest, France; Saint-Nazaire, France; Le Verdon, France; Bilbao, Spain; Gijon, Spain; La Coruna, Spain and Le Havre (Paris) France before returning to Newcastle.
A series of voyages exploring Fjordland and Iceland will take place between May and June 2023 followed by Arctic voyages to the North Cape and Scottish Islands.
The ship is the former AIDAmira and Costa neoRiviera is currently under charter for refugee housing.
