Carnival Corporation’s brand AIDA Cruises announced that the company is raising pay for all crew by 5 percent.
According to a report from Crew Center, the pay rise will be carried out in two steps, with the first increase of 2.5 percent in February 2023, and 2.5 percent in July 2023.
“Since we returned to service over 7.000 crew members of the AIDA family have re-joined our fleet. Additionally, more than 6.000 crew members have been newly hired. In total, we call over 15.000 crew members being part of the AIDA family,” the company said in a letter sent to crew.
Additionally, the company is implementing a number of other benefits for its employees including increased leave days.
“Just before the pandemic turned the world upside down, we had implemented several improvements for our crew, which couldn’t be fully utilized due to the pause of operation. Today, our crew members can benefit from reduced and more flexible contract length, free social media package and additional bandwidth at lower prices.”
In addition, AIDA Cruises is implementing the following benefits in 2023:
- Increased leave for the first-time crew
- Increased leave days for hotel officers
- Increased wage scale for cabin stewards
AIDA Cruises expressed gratitude to its team and said: “We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your dedication and effort over the last year. Together as a team we have managed to bring back all ships into service and to offer wonderful cruises and unforgettable moments to our dear guests all over the world.”
