The Carnival Valor and Freedom will temporarily lay up in Gulfport, Mississippi, a former cruise port.
The lack of dock space at New Orleans, according to local reports, pushed both ships to Gulfport, where they arrived on Sunday and will stay under further notice.
Port officials said they were expecting a third ship as well.
Crew is said to be staying onboard.
