Norwegian Cruise Line on Monday celebrated the arrival of the Encore in New York City by giving away 100 free cruises, a company statement said.

The cruise line set up a scavenger hunt across Manhattan where players could interactively search for clues in order to find 50 golden ships, each worth two free cruises on the Encore.

Over 1,000 participants registered to play.

The cruise line also set up a stage in the center of Times Square where it put on performances from its Broadway shows aboard the ship while participants raced around the city.

The cruise line will be hosting a similar event on November 20 in Miami.
