MSC Grandiosa Calls in Le Havre

The new MSC Grandiosa arrived in Le Havre on Saturday following her delivery from shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique.

With the ship making her inaugural call in the French port, local port and tourism officials were aboard for a historic plaque exchange, presenting Captain Marco Massa with a plaque commemorating the ship’s call.

The new 4,888-guest ship is set to spend an inaugural season sailing in the Western Mediterranean. The ship will then be the largest ever to call South America home, and will sail the 2020-2021 season from Santos.

The new vessel has also introduced two new major onboard environmental advances: a state-of-the-art Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and next-generation Advanced Wastewater Treatment (AWT) system.
