Riverboat owner/operator Riseday sails three boats and has a fourth on the way, under construction in Slovakia and scheduled to enter service in June 2021, according to the 2020 European River Cruise Market Report by Cruise Industry News.

Riseday charters its ships for largely German-speaking cruises with an easy-going, “nothing is a problem” attitude, said Managing Director Ivan Sivak.

“Our company is very flexible, easy to work with. We can make changes and adapt to new circumstances very fast,” Sivak said.

Part of presenting a laid-back product is knowing all the technical details are taken care of behind the scenes. Sivak said Riseday puts particular emphasis on the basics.

“We try to keep our ships in the best possible technical shape. We pay much attention to standards onboard: safety, hygiene, etc.,” he said.

“Riseday’s four-star product puts a special emphasis on food, especially elegant presentation.”

The 157-passenger Princess Sisi is 111.24 meters long with a crew of 40. She was built in 2000 and refurbished in 2015.

The 170-passenger Princess Isabella is 125.5 meters long with a crew of 42. She was built in 2002 and refurbished in 2011.

The 144-passenger Princess Katharina is 110 meters long with a crew of 35. She was built in 1991 and refurbished in 2015.

All three ships are registered in Malta, Riseday’s headquarters. The company also has offices in Slovakia.

The common language spoken onboard is German, although crew are also fluent in English.

Riseday ships sail the Danube about 90 percent of the time, Sivak said, generally at more than 80 percent occupancy.
