P&O Cruises announced its Food Heroes experiences travel dates for 2020. The program invites guests to join famed British chef Marco Pierre White, master pâtissier Eric Lanlard, and wine expert Olly Smith on selected sailings, including aboard the newbuild Iona, launching May 2020.
Guests can taste Marco’s Gala menus in any of Iona’s four main restaurants, sample Eric’s hand-crafted pastries in Vistas Café Bar, plus take part in Olly’s food and drink experiences including exclusive shore excursions. Now available on Iona, guests can also attend Eric’s hosted Afternoon Tea in The Epicurean featuring treats such as bee pollen scones and pistachio petit choux, according to a statement from P&O.
On the Britannia and Azura, Olly will be hosting a one-to-one wine surgery at The Glass House, offering guests the chance to have all their wine questions answered. On Britannia, guests can attend Marco’s hosted masterclasses in the Cookery Club and learn to cook several of his popular dishes, as well as attend hosted dinners.
P&O Cruises president, Paul Ludlow, said he was delighted by the program.
“We’ve added a Bergen brewery tour experience with Olly Smith which is exclusive to Iona, and are proud of returning Food Heroes favorites such as our interactive cookery shows and Q&A Sessions with Marco and Eric,” Ludlow said in a statement.
Marco Pierre White will be on the following Iona cruises from Southampton departing July 25 and Aug. 1. He’ll also be on the Britannia from Southampton Aug 4 and Aug. 15, 2020
Olly Smith will sail on the Britannia June 20, the Iona Sept. 5 – including the Bergen brewery shore experience – and the Azura Oct. 4, 2020.
Eric Landlard will be on the Britannia July 18 and Aug. 29, and the Iona Aug. 8, 2020.
