Amadeus River Cruises has announced a brand-new itinerary for 2020, taking in some of Germany’s most idyllic landscapes on the nine-day German Riverscapes sailing onboard Amadeus Brilliant.
The river ship will travel from Passau to Trier, visiting a mixture of well-known and lesser-known ports of call along the way, according to a statement.
These include Regensburg, Nuremberg and Koblenz as well as Würzberg, Ochsenfurt and Oberwesel, close to the legendary Passage of the Lorelei.
Passengers can choose various excursions, all of which can be purchased individually onboard or via a discounted pre-cruise package.
Excursions offered include a walking tour of Regensburg, followed by a visit to the Thurn and Taxis Castle and brewery; wine tasting in Würzberg and Cochem; and tours of the historic and picturesque towns of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Miltenberg and Oberwesel.
Announcing the new itinerary, Sukie Rapal, Head of River Cruising at Amadeus River Cruises UK said: “As a family-run company whose founders are still very much involved in day-to-day operations, Amadeus is famed for its personal, open and innovative approach to river cruising. It’s thanks to this that we are able to respond dynamically to customer demand and introduce new and exciting itineraries that can be enjoyed by both new and returning Amadeus cruisers.”
“This new sailing showcases a side of Germany that many will have never seen before and, thanks to our team of highly-experienced local tour guides, passengers can get up close to the sights and sounds that make this region so enchanting.”
