The German market continues to be strong for 1AVista, operator of 19 vessels on European rivers, the Mekong in Asia, and the Nile in Egypt, according to the 2020 European River Cruise Market Report by Cruise Industry News.
The Cologne, Germany-based company will add the 181-passenger MS Vista Sky next year.
The line sails the Danube, Douro, Maas, Main, Moselle, Rhine, Saône, Schelde, Seine in Western Europe, and the Don, Neva, and Volga in Russia.
Nine of the ships are branded Vista ships.
The line launched on the Rhine in the summer of 2007 with the Bellriva. All food and drinks – bar and table – were included in the price. The concept quickly brought strong booking numbers and numerous regulars before eventually being scaled back.
1AVista offers several unusual cruises each year, such as the Rhine On Fire fireworks festival and Holiday With Dog cruises for canines and their owners to enjoy vacations together. The dog cruises have been very popular since their 2009 introduction. A Danube dog cruises is planned for 2020.
The 80-passenger VistaMahrousa offers eight-, 10-, and 15-day journeys from Cairo to Luxor with German-language shore excursions.
