Nicko Cruises Announces World Voyager Deployment

Nicko Cruises will operate the new 200-guest World Voyager for the 2020 cruise season, as the German brand announced deployment today for the Mystic Cruises vessel which is under construction at West Sea in Portugal.

“The concept for our sea voyages is simply explained: Small ships – great experiences,” said Guido Laukamp, managing director. “By this we mean cruises far away from mass tourism, along the most beautiful routes in the world, with a maximum of 200 guests. In times of megaships and overtourism, we rely on the counter trend, which is getting stronger and stronger: individual cruising experiences on manageable ships with a personal touch.”

Deployment includes the Mediterranean, Western Europe and Northern Europe. Twenty-four different routes are on offer. Seven cruises homeport in either Kiel or Hamburg for easy access to the German market, the company said.

Among other highlights on the small ship is a Corinth Canal transit on an 11-day cruise from Athens with highlight calls to Mykonos and Santorini.

The Mario Ferreira-owned Nicko Cruises will launch its ocean brand with the 200-guest World Explorer this year. Mystic Cruises, which is also owned by Ferreira, is building a series of three 200-guest vessels. The World Explorer will operate for both Nicko Cruises and Quark Expeditions.
