Cruise Retirement Startup Promises New Experience at Sea

Cruise Retirement is offering a live-aboard residential cruise experience and plans to start sailing 2020, according to the company’s website.

The startup company has recently been making sales presentations at retirement seminars in the United States.

“Based in Miami and Melbourne, we provide a range of long-term Residential options aboard cruise ships to allow you to travel and explore perpetually at similar costs to land-based living,” the company said, on its website.

Dr. Marc Baron is listed as one of the company’s directors.

The company flagship is the 550-guest, 210-crewmember M/V Enchanted Explorer, which it said is “presently undergoing a refurbishment in preparation for launch.”

“Your ship will soon be travelling to TNG Shipyards in Veracruz, Mexico in March, 2019 to commence a complete refit at a cost of $15 million USD under the guidance of one of the world’s most experienced project managers,” the company said, on its website.

The ship will offer “relaxed seating arrangements for all meals in the elegant surroundings of the buffet areas, with an a la carte restaurant for those special occasions.” In addition “sporting activities available, enjoy a swim or just relax in the sauna and don’t forget the shore-based activities and tours to suit all variety of tastes.”

Requests for comment were not returned.

Corrections and Amplifications: A previous version of this story incorrectly listed Dr. Marc Baron’s title as CEO. A company spokesperson told Cruise industry News the vessel the company is considering is not the Delphin.
