Captain Alevropoulos Takes Command of Mein Schiff 3

George Alevropoulos has been named captain of TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 3.

He joined the German brand during its start up in 2009, and can trace his seafaring career back to 1995, making the move to the cruise industry in 2002.

In a personality profile, he said he prefers itineraries in the Caribbean, but his favorite port is Hamburg due to its special harbor entrance.

During his career with TUI, Alevropoulos was also part of the newbuild team for the Mein Schiff 3, which was the first new ship the company built.

“The supervision and commissioning of the Mein Schiff 3 by TUI Cruises was a highlight in my career. The moment of the crossing as well as the handover remain unforgettable for me,” he said.
