The new $3 billion Taizi Bay Cruise Homeport was the backdrop for the christening of the Genting Dream last November.

The facility currently has two operational cruise berths, making it one of the largest homeports in Southern China.

The port is looking at a strong inaugural year, with over 100 calls expected, according to a spokesperson. In June, it managed its first-ever dual call day and recently announced the formation of the Shenzhen Cruise Tourism Alliance.

The alliance aims to promote business interactions and information exchange to develop Shenzhen’s cruise tourism.
