Majesty Arrives in St. Maarten for Evacuation

Royal Caribbean International’s Majesty of the Seas docked in St. Maarten on Friday morning to perform an evacuation mission for various American and other citizens stranded on the island, which was devastated by Hurricane Irma.

The Miami-based cruise line worked closely with St. Maarten and U.S. government authorities, and also cancelled the ship’s weekend cruise to perform the call.

With an empty ship, up to 2,450 people may be evacuated from the island. The ship will sail to San Juan, where the passengers will disembark.
