The Seabourn Ovation was launched at Fincantieri’s Sestri (Genoa) shipyard on Sept. 1. She is a sister ship to the 40,350-ton, 600-passenger Seabourn Encore, which was delivered at the end of 2016.

According to a statement from the Italian shipbuilder, the Ovation is due to join the Seabourn fleet in spring 2018. 

Fincantieri has built 78 cruise ships from 1990 to today (55 since 2002), 63 of which for Carnival Corporation’s different brands, while another 31 are currently being designed or built in the Group’s yards and eight of these are for Carnival brands
