With two cruise port’s Norway’s Telemark county is hoping to build its profile as a key destination .Ships can stop in Brevik and/or Kragerø. The latter has two calls scheduled for 2017: the Serenissima and Noble Caledonia.
Five calls are scheduled for 2018 as Kragerø quay is located right in the town center with a 100-meter-long pier optimal for small ships.
“We are continuously developing our shore excursion offerings and customize them to the cruise lines needs,” commented Anne-Bjørg Haugan, director of cruise for Telemark
Brevik has two ports available for cruise ships. One quay measures 200 meters long and is a 10 minute drive from the city center, while a smaller quay at 120 meters long is in the heart of the small coastal town.
Among the most popular shore excursions is a boat ride through the Telemark Canal, which is over 150 years old and was once the fastest route between eastern and western Norway. The canal has 18 manually operated locks.
