Pacific Eden Picks Up New Livery

  • August 9, 2017

Eden Southern Cross LiveryThe Pacific Eden is ready to re-enter service for P&O Australia following a drydocking at a shipyard in Southeast Asia. The ship is sporting the line’s new trademark Southern Cross livery.

The Eden underwent a 12-day drydock ahead of the start of her highly-anticipated Cairns cruise season. The two-story Marquee Show Lounge has been given a stylish new look and feel with a dramatic black, white and emerald-green colour scheme, custom wallpaper and unique artworks — more design work by Petra Ryberg, according to teh cruise company.

Popular late night hot spot, The Dome, has been updated to take on a contemporary nautical theme with dark navy blue and white hues, drapes and soft lighting.

Select mini-suites and balcony cabins received new carpets and outdoor furniture whilst the cinema, spa, gym and HQ and HQ Plus have been revitalised. In total, 11,000 square metres of new carpet was laid.

The current dry dock followed Eden’s extensive three-week refurbishment undertaken alongside sister-ship Pacific Aria in late 2015.

Sture Myrmell said the latest refurbishment was part of P&O’s commitment to continually evolve and enhance the design of the fleet.

“Since Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden underwent their extensive transformation in 2015, we’ve built a reputation as a modern Australian cruise line that provides memorable holidays in a unique setting,” Sture said.

“A key part of that process is to deliver a stylish, modern look and feel across the ship’s public spaces and produce venues that would be more at home in a high-end resort than on a cruise ship.

“The Marquee Show Lounge and The Dome are two of Pacific Eden’s most popular venues and the new upgrades will continue to push the boundaries on our designs and what passengers can continue to expect from our fleet.”

Pacific Eden was scheduled to emerge from dry dock ahead of a nine-night sailing from Cairns to the Conflict Islands on August 24.
