Alesund is expecting a strong 2017 to turn into a robust 2018, with 131 calls growing to 164 and passengers expected crossing the 300,000 mark.

The city center is located just footsteps from the port, next to fjords and classic Norwegian nature. In addition is free Wi-Fi pierside for passengers and crew.

This year, according to Synnøve Johnsen, cruise coordinator, the port will welcome highlight calls with the Disney Magic, Queen Mary 2 and Mein Schiff 6, among others.

“We are developing new exciting shore excursions to make the port and destination more attractive,” commented Johnsen.

Ships scoring above 50 points or higher on the Environmental Sustainability Index are eligible for a 30 percent discount on fees.

“We are mainly fully booked in the summer and our potential to grow is winter, spring and autumn,” Johnsen noted.
