Global Ports Holding (GPH) announced its next Global Run Event will take place on Nov. 12 in Ravenna.

The Maratona di Ravenna Città d’Arte will be sponsored by Global Ports, gathering participants from around the world to run in support of cultural tolerance and to enjoy the beauty of Ravenna, the company said.

The course will include two tracks, featuring a full and a half marathon distance.

This is also the first time Global Ports is taking over the title sponsorship of an existing event, as the Ravenna Marathon will become a Global Run event.

“The event is a great opportunity for GPH to help to promote the city while engaging with the local community, ”Global Ports said, in a prepared statement.

The previous event, Global Run Bodrum 2016, was recently recognized as the “Best Sports Event” at the ACE of M.I.C.E. Awards ceremony, one of the most prestigious tourism awards in Turkey.

The Global Run has been held in Bodrum, Turkey; Valletta, Malta; and Bar/Kotor, Montenegro. The intention is to take Global Run to all the locations of GPH’s growing portfolio of 14 cruise ports located around the world, the company said.
