Costa Crociere appears to be dropping its Asia capacity in 2018, as an announcement earlier this week had the company opening two Asia-based ships to international source markets for the 2017-2018 winter season.

The real impact, however, is the 23-night cruise aboard the Costa Victoria, with the ship going from Singapore and arriving in Savona in mid March.

This would appear to set the 1996-built ship up for a European summer.

The Costa Victoria repositioned to the Chinese market in 2012, and sailed from Japan, sourcing Japanese passengers for the summer of 2016.

With the ship appearing to be set for a move back to Europe, that would indicate Costa going from five ships to four in the Asia market for 2018: with the neoRomantica joined by Fortuna, Atlantica and Serena.
