Port Canaveral to Weigh New Terminal

Port Canaveral commissioners will discuss Wednesday whether to go forward with a proposed plan to build and develop a new cruise terminal, according to Florida Today.

The new terminal, with a proposed $150 million budget, would replace terminal 3 on the south side of the port.

Under the current timeline, construction would begin in late summer 2018, according to Florida Today.

Port officials said, in a memo to port commissioners, that cruise lines have an interest in bringing additional ships to Port Canaveral, however officials cannot discuss specifics beyond that.

Carnival, Disney, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean currently have ships based at Port Canaveral.
