Aurora Expeditions is set to charter the first expedition newbuild from SunStone Ships for the 2019-2020 season in Antarctica.

SunStone recently inked a deal to build up to 10 expedition ships in China, ranging from 130 to 200 passengers. The first 8,000-ton vessel is expected to be delivered in August 2019.

SunStone is the largest provider of expedition tonnage, chartering ships to various cruise lines and tour operators. 

Sydney-Based Aurora Expeditions was founded in 1991 and operates small ships in expedition regions on charter agreements.
