AIDAdiva Kicks Off Rostock’s 2017 Season

The 2017 cruise season kicked off last week in Rostock as Warnemünde hosted its first ship of 2017, the AIDAdiva, which tied up around 7 a.m. after arriving from Gothenburg.

“Ten years ago almost to the day, AIDAdiva called at Warnemünde for the first time, shortly after her commissioning. Today AIDAdiva calls at Rostock’s seaside resort for the 32nd time before she heads on to Oslo in the evening,” noted Jens A. Scharner, managing director of the port.

The 2007-built ship received a escort by a local fire boat with a water fountain salute.

Both the AIDAmar and AIDAdiva are set to call Rostock home this summer, with 40 turnarounds scheduled.

The port expects around 61 turns throughout the season, part of a 190-call 2017 with 36 ships expected. There are three four-ship days.
