Dream Cruises Hosts Cheongsam Fashion Show

Cheongsam Catwalk

Dream Cruises hosted the first-ever Cheongsam Fashion Show at sea in March, with the Genting Dream serving as the runway for 21 selected crew models, showing off handcrafted pieces by Hong Kong’s top bespoke Tailor “Linva Tailor.”

The fashion shows were held aboard on select sailings March. In addition, a curated selection of bespoke cheongsams were on exhibition at Deck 8 of Genting Dream.

According to a statement from Genting, Cheongsam, also known as Qipao, is the iconic Chinese dress that showcases a woman’s feminine allure and beauty. The cheongsam captures the essence of Chinese women which has endured through centuries. Inspired by Maggie Cheung’s 21 figure hugging cheongsams in the blockbuster classic and exquisite masterpiece – “In the Mood for Love” directed by Wong Kar Wai, Master Tailor Mr. Leung Ching Wah from “Linva Tailor” has designed and handcrafted these 21 cheongsams for the first-ever Cheongsam fashion show at sea.
