Norwegian Cruise Line took the honors as having the best beer and wine programs at the recent VIBE conference.

The on-premise beverage conference for beverage executives recognized the top beverage programs for hotels, cruise lines, casinos and multi-unit chain restaurants.

The annual conference, held this year at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Feb. 28, focused on the creation, training, execution, management and on-going positive results of beverage programs. Entries were reviewed by a panel of Johnson & Wales University beverage faculty, staff and alumni and were judged on positive beverage sales initiatives, efficient operational innovations and training and service programs producing high quality standards.

Other winners included Caesar’s Entertainment for best spirits program; MGM Resorts for best beverage menu; Interstate Hotel and Resorts for best responsible alcohol service program; and Loews Hotels and Resorts for best alcohol free program.

Supplier awards went to AB InBev for best large beer company; E. & J. Gallo for best large wine company; Beam Suntory for best large spirits company; and to Coca-Cola for the best large alcohol free supplier company.

VIBE supplier awards were based on several key attributes including business-building support as well as service and support performance through an online survey. The results were analyzed by food and beverage industry research and consulting firm Technomic.
