Hapag-Lloyd Cruises today announced the names of its two new ships, the Hanseatic Nature and Hanseatic Inspiration. The ships will be delivered in April and October of 2019, respectively, from VARD in Norway.

The German company said they will have the highest ice class for their hulls, and interior designs have been inspired by nature. The ships will serve both German and English speaking markets.

Each vessel will have three restaurants and a large spa, in addition to a large aft marina for water sports.

Environmentally, the 230-passenger ships will have scrubbers and shore power capabilities.

With our choice of names, we are continuing the success story of today’s Hanseatic – the only 5-star expedition ship – retaining the popular and well-known brand name and establishing a new and separate class within our fleet.”
