Saga Cruises has released artist’s impressions of its new ship which will be launched in summer 2019.
“The thoughts and recommendations of passengers have been incorporated into the design and the sleek ship will carry fewer than 1,000 passengers and feature 540 all-balcony cabins,” said the company.
Twenty percent of the accommodation will be for solo travellers.
Features will include single-sitting dining in a choice of restaurants, a selection of bars, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a library, an observation lounge and signature Britannia Lounge.
“The all-balcony cabins will be spacious and modern, designed with a fresh and contemporary twist,” said newbuild director David Picket.
“In fact, the whole ship has the ‘wow’ factor. It is being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard, in Hamburg, and at the moment we’re heavily focused on technical design, the engine, generator and propulsion plant; everything to make sure we deliver a practical, working ship of the highest specification.”
“We are scheduled to lay the first block in late summer 2018. Just over a year away!”
