The Port Authority of Piraeus has reported a 10 percent rise in cruise passengers for 2016, compared to the year-prior. In a prepared statement the port said it had handled 113,000 more passengers. In addition there was a 24 percent rise in homeport traffic.
“At a time of continuous difficulty in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean is a sea of security and peace and the Piraeus cruise port is a modern hub which provides complete services to passengers and ships,” said the statement.
