After limping around Asia and Australia with cancelled port calls and modified itineraries due to propulsion problems, the situation has gone from bad to worse for the Norwegian Star.
The ship became adrift yesterday in the Tasman Sea, with both ABB pods offline, and is now under tow back to Melbourne, Australia.
Passengers have guest amenities as the vessel has full hotel power. Once the vessel is back in Melbourne, engineers will evaluate the azipod failures. Passengers will receive a full refund and future cruise discount.
The vessel also had pod issues in 2015, forcing a cruise cancellation.
