The Costa Luminosa will leave on Jan. 6 for a 106-day world cruise round-trip from Savona, Italy. The ship will visit five continents and 35 ports, returning on April 22, according to a statement from Costa, which added it has offered a world cruise annually since 2011.

Passengers from 37 countries have booked space aboard, said Costa; the majority of guests are from France, followed by Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. Ages range from two to 96 years old.

The ship will sail first to Gibraltar before heading to Cape Horn, and also visiting Australia, India and then transiting back to Europe through the Suez Canal.

Highlights include Casablanca (Morocco), Salvador and Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Punta Arenas and Valparaiso (Chile), Easter Island (Chile), Tahiti (Polynesia), Auckland (New Zealand), Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (Australia), Mumbai, Goa and Cochin (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Muscat (Oman) and Aqaba (Jordan).
