AIDA Cruises opened the ice rink on its new AIDAprima in time for the winter season, with the ship week-long cruises from Hamburg.

It is the first ice rink on a ship dedicated to the German market, according to AIDA.

The rink was inaugurated during a ceremony onboard by skating duo Salomé Casabona Studer and Peter Turner, who are best known from the Holiday on Ice show: Believe. The cruise line also announced a partnership with Holiday on Ice.

The rink will be open until mid March. The rink is 200 square meters and located on Deck 16. AIDA said it took a week to install on the ship. The rink offers skating lessons, free skate times and shows.
