Dream Cruises Announces Penfolds Wine Vault at Sea

Dream Cruises has announced a partnership with Australian winemaker Penfolds to bring the world’s first Penfolds Flagship Wine Vault at sea onboard the new Genting Dream.

The “vault” offers rare wines and fine vintages from one of the world’s leading wineries, including Penfolds Bin 170  and Penfolds Grange 2010.

The ship will also feature Penfolds Yattarna, an exceptional Chardonnay “that is the result of one of the most comprehensive, focused and highly publicised wine development projects ever conducted in Australia. The food pairing opportunities are boundless as Genting Dream expert chefs and sommeliers work to ensure that only the finest wines are served to match the culinary delights served from one of the ship’s many state-of-the-art kitchens,” said Genting.

The Genting Dream will also become home to the ultra rare Penfolds Aevum Imperial Service Ritual, a vessel specially handcrafted by legendary European glass and crystal house Saint-Louis and one of only five in the world.

Thatcher Brown, Dream Cruises President, said: “We are delighted that Genting Dream will not only provide our guests with the finest vintages that this legendary wine maker has to offer, but that we will also be able to showcase one of only five of the exquisite Penfolds Aevum Imperial Service Rituals. This perfectly matches our commitment to bring dreams to life through a luxury vacation experience with only the finest products, service and standards – values that are shared by Dream Cruises and our newest partner, Penfolds.”

Peter Gago, Penfolds Chief Winemaker, said: “It is extremely exciting to be part of the history-making inauguration of Genting Dream. As wine culture becomes an increasingly important part of the luxury travel experience, it’s my pleasure to see the extremely rare Penfolds Aevum Imperial Service Ritual find its home aboard this magnificent cruise ship. We look forward to a continued partnership with Dream Cruises to offer a truly unique wine experience featuring collectible wines and rare vintages at the new Penfolds Wine Vault at sea.”

At the entrance to Penfolds Wine Vault will be a “stunningly beautiful wine dispenser fashioned out of hardwood, glass and stainless steel which can serve wine by the glass at the perfect temperature from a choice of eight reds and eight whites. An additional two dispensers will be placed outside The Lido, Genting Dream’s all-day indoor/outdoor contemporary buffet restaurant.”

In addition, special wine tasting events at Penfolds Wine Vault will be held.
