The Fall 2016 edition of the Cruise Industry News Quarterly Magazine (CIN) debuted on Friday in Tianjin, with attendees at the China Cruise Shipping (CCS) conference and trade show receiving an advance copy of the magazine, which will be distributed to subscribers worldwide in early October.

As the sole cruise magazine distributed at the CCS event, the 132-page magazine features an in-depth China report covering cruise lines, port, agents and charterers and the fleet in Asia. CIN has talked to top management at all the major cruise lines operating in the region about their strategies in China and Asia, including both local Chinese brands. There is also an in-depth report on ports in China, and a roundtable with travel agents on the ship-charter model.

In addition are exclusive executive profiles and interviews with Sture Myrmell, president of P&O Australia; David Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings China; Hernan Zini, chief operating officer at SkySea; John McGirl; senior vice president of operations, The World; and Nick Weir, vice president of entertainment at Royal Caribbean International.

Other sections include shipbuilding. There are more cruise ships on the orderbook and under construction than at any time before, while new yards are breaking in. CIN discusses the yards’ strategies, resources and capabilities.

With the move to LNG, a special section is dedicated to the new “fuel of choice,” with class societies and engine manufacturers responding.

Food and Beverage looks at the latest trends, as well as new offerings from Regent, Cunard, Carnival and Norwegian.

Onboard, CIN has profiled senior officers and the cruise experience on the Costa Fortuna from Shanghai, and from Miami, the Carnival Sensation and Empress of the Seas.

The destination focus also includes Australia, with the highest market penetration in the world. Executives at Carnival Australia and Royal Caribbean are confident there is more to come Down Under.
