New Crystal Ship Delivery Pushed Back to 2019

The new 100,000-ton 1,000-passenger ocean-going ship Crystal Cruises was set to launch in fall 2018 is now to be delivered in 2019, according to a blog post from Crystal Cruises President and CEO Edie Rodriguez.

Crystal confirmed the delivery in an email to Cruise Industry News.

Crystal’s loyal guests will get a new ship, however, in 2018, as the company will take delivery of the 200-guest, 25,000-ton Crystal Endeavor polar class expedition mega yacht in August.

Crystal has not yet committed to delivery dates for the second and third vessels in big-ship class, but will most likely be one and two years after the initial ship, respectively, based on general  shipbuilding practices. Deployment could be announced soon for the first of the newbuilds as the company recently launched its 2019 world cruise itinerary.
