French Polynesia: More Incentives for Ships Calling

Tahiti Cruise Club, an organization overseeing the development of the cruise industry in French Polynesia, announced that cruise ships staying late in port or at anchorage can now open their casinos.

In addition, regulations have been eased for crew members serving on homeported ships, no longer requiring them to have long-term stay visas.

The Tahiti Cruise Club said ports in the region are investigating expanding facilities, including the possible of a new terminal in Papeete.
