Anastassiadis: “Celestyal Will Definitely Get Newbuilds”

Kyriakos Anastassiadis, CEO of Celestyal Cruises, told Cruise Industry News that the company will order new ships during an interview in Ft. Lauderdale.

“We will definitely get newbuilds,” he said, “it’s just a matter of time. They will be mid-sized vessels, not bigger than 1,800 passengers. Our business model is built on mid-sized vessels.”

Anastassiadis said the company has spoken to yards, and is working on yard slots available, as well as the financing package for the ships.

In other big news from Anastassiadis and Celestyal, the company will launch a winter program with the Olympia in the Eastern Mediterranean for winter 2016-2017.

In addition, the company’s Cuba Cruise brand will move to a year-round program starting in 2018.
