Titanic II Project Back In News, Now Launching in 2018

Clive Palmer’s ambitious project to build a replica of the Titanic is now scheduled for 2018 according to a report in the Belfast Telegraph citing a spokesperson for the Australian businessman.

Earlier reports had the project being cancelled by Palmer. The ship was expected in 2016 when the project was announced.

The maiden voyage was originally set to be from China to New York, but that has now changed, with the ship sailing from China to the United Arab Emirates.

The ship was last in the news in 2014, when Blue Star Line announced it had signed a MOU with Deltamarine. In 2013, a tank test was held in Germany for a model of the ship.
