Thomson Spirit to Drydock at Palumbo Group in Malta

The Thomson Spirit will soon enter the drydock in Valletta at Palumbo Group’s Malta yard for routine maintenance and class surveys.

A yard spokesperson confirmed the vessel’s appointment to Cruise Industry News, while Greek media reported that Louis Group, which owns and manages the ship, changed shipyards for two vessels following issues with drydocks in Syros and in Elefsis.

Leading Greek maritime news outlet arxipelagos.com reported that the Syros shipyard in Greece had its powered turned off due “exorbitant debts” to the utility company. With the Spirit heading for Malta, the Olympia will instead dryock in Turkey.
