Seattle Launches Co-Op Tourism Promotional Program

The Port of Seattle is launching a cooperative tourism promotion program to attract visitors to the state.

In support of the airport, cruise terminals and marinas, the Port is offering $10,000 in matching funds to Washington tourism non-profits to enhance the region’s attraction as a tourist destination to visitors.

Examples of organizations that may qualify include chambers of commerce, regional tourism organizations, as well as public sector organizations for events, festivals, recreation and entertainment venues.

Government entities may also apply such as counties, cities, port districts, Indian nations, state and federal agencies, and organizations exempted from Federal Income Tax under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Funds can only be used for advertising, publicity or otherwise distributing information for the purpose of attracting visitors.

Electronic applications must be submitted by March 31, 2016.
