MHG Insurance Brokers has announced the launch of The Entertainer Liability Insurance Plan which indemnifies cruise lines against exposure created by independent entertainers.

The plan meets liability requirements of most cruise lines and includes coverage for property damage as well as injury or death to passengers and crew. Coverage is worldwide and is an affordable solution to appropriately cover risk.

With thousands of independent entertainers performing onboard ships, and many of them without coverage or possessing the wrong coverage, MHG identified this as a potential liability that needed to be addressed.
The plan, conceived by the insurance specialists at MHG, bridges the liability gap between cruise lines and entertainers.

“This plan has been carefully designed over the last year to fit the risk management needs of cruise lines.” said Edward Telfer, MHG Cruise Division Director. “Most liability plans are geared towards land-based entertainers and do not provide suitable coverage for entertainers at sea, leaving the cruise line to bear the responsibility in the event of an accident when either the entertainer doesn’t have coverage or isn’t aware they have the wrong coverage. The Entertainer Liability Plan mitigates this risk.”

The plan can be purchased from 31 days up to a maximum 365 days and can be bound in just three business days, both features intended to fit the nature of the industry. There are currently two coverage options to choose from: $1,000,000 or $5,000,000 in coverage. International travel insurance can be added on as a separate policy to complete insurance coverage.
