Guadeloupe is introducing tourism as a subject in 5th grade classes for both public and private schools this coming school year. Thus, more than 6,500 students will study tourism.
This follows the Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board receiving an award at the Touristic Echo in Paris last month for a tourism educational program it had developed jointly with the Academy of Guadeloupe.
