With the Viking Star launching earlier this year, Viking Ocean Cruises looked poised to take over a significant niche in the cruise industry with three more 930-passengers ships on the way to join the fleet before 2017 was out.

But is that still the case?

Recent company announcements have trimmed a planned four ship fleet (announced here) back to three, and delaying the third vessel, the Viking Sky, from 2016 to 2017.

Furthering that, press releases coming from both Viking and the shipbuilder have only referenced the Viking Sea and Sky (due in 2016 and 2017, respectively), without mention of the fourth vessel.
