Cruise the Saint Lawrence has launched its own contest inviting Quebecers to take part in what it is calling the Bienvenue Cruise Passengers Contest.
The association is urging local residents to “get out and welcome passengers and crew.”
With nine member ports, the group has over 350 total calls and is expecting some 275,000 cruise passengers for the 2015 season, in addition to 120,000 crew.
The contest asks residents to “share their vision of a day in port” through photography and social media, sharing with specific hashtags on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
“Show us in pictures how passengers, crew members, port of call employees and locals interact when an international cruise ship drops anchor in your region. Show us how you welcome cruise passengers and crew by sharing with us your images of cruise ships, greeting proceedings, port activities and participant smiles,” said the association in a statement.
The hashtags are: #concoursBienvenue #FleuveStLaurent followed by the applicable port of call hashtag: #EscaleMTL, #EscaleTR, #EscaleQC, #EscaleSagu, #EscaleBC, #Escale7I, #EscaleHSP, #EscaleGaspe, #EscaleIM.
Better yet, entrants can win one of four prizes, including a two-person cruise aboard the CMTA Vacancier, or tour packages to visit Saguenay, Québec and Montréal.
