Le Havre has announced that its cruise season started today, March 3, with a call by the AIDAmar. Some 100 cruise calls are expected for 2015 before the season ends Nov. 23.
During the year, Le Havre expects to see 17 days with two ships in port on the same day and one day with three ships. While most ships stay for one day, this year will have four over-night calls and one three-day call.
There will also be 11 inaugural calls by the Saga Sapphire, Regal Princess, Anthem of the Seas, MSC Splendida, Celebrity Silhouette Serenade of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, Gann, Costa Favolosa, MSC Sinfonia and Mein Schiff 4.
Several lines will embark passengers in Le Havre, including Costa Crociere.
According to a prepared statement, Le Havre has a destination program, welcoming passengers and offering shipping guidance. Special events include a stage of the Tour de France in Le Havre on July 9, when the Royal Princess will be in town.
