Star Cruises noted its first port-of-call to Puerto Princesa with the arrival of SuperStar Aquarius.
The ship has recently homeport in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Malaysia) for its second season from November 2014 – March 2015, introducing the all new 3-Night destination cruise to Puerto Princesa of the Palawan island province in the Philippines.
SuperStar Aquarius’ maiden voyage to the city of Puerto Princesa saw the arrival of international passengers from Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and many more, as well as travelling local Filipinos. Disembarking passengers received a warm welcome from the locals with a spectacular live cultural dance performance.
The local Department of Tourism also presented welcome souvenirs for the disembarking passengers as a token of remembrance during their visit to Puerto Princesa. In conjunction with this special occasion, a welcome ceremony was held onboard SuperStar Aquarius together with the respective delegates from the local authorities and business partners. The city mayor of Puerto Princesa, the Honorable Lucilo “Cecil” Bayron presented the ‘Key to the City’ to Mr. Michael Goh, Senior Vice President, Sales of Star Cruises during the inaugural welcome ceremony. The Honorable Jose Alvarez, Governor of Palawan also graced this special event onboard SuperStar Aquarius.
