CruiseOne and Cruises Inc., one of the nation’s top travel retail networks as part of World Travel Holdings (WTH), today celebrated the beginning of its 2014 National Conference aboard Regal Princess with a dynamic keynote address by Carnival President and CEO Arnold Donald.
“As we set sail for a weeklong, energizing conference with our largest attendance ever of more than 900 people, we thought it fitting to have the leader of the largest cruise company in the world kick things off with his personal insight into the industry,” said Drew Daly, general manager of network engagement & performance for CruiseOne and Cruises Inc.
Donald led the group in dancing to “The Wobble” and discussed his future vision of the Carnival Corporation brands; the importance of travel agents and Carnival’s support of them; direct business strategies; and the variety of promotions available in today’s competitive landscape within the cruise industry. He also answered questions directly from agents in the audience, such as “What incentives are you giving to customers who book early to compensate for times when there are fare reductions after a final booking?”
This year’s weeklong annual event focuses on the personal and professional development of agents with the theme of GROWTH – Gaining Relationships and Opportunities through WTH at the forefront. Throughout the week, agents will be attending interactive workshops, listening to motivational speakers, participating in teambuilding exercises and conversing with key executives from World Travel Holdings, cruise lines and land vendors.
