The four ships with scheduled calls in Trois‐Rivières can look forward to a host of activities this coming summer, according to local tourism officials.
New events such as the Marché des saveurs and send offs by local choirs will make the experience even more memorable. When it comes to welcoming cruise ship passengers, the people of Trois‐ Rivières have a fantastic reputation, according to a statement.
In the coming months, the port expects calls from the Maasdam, CTMA Le Vacancier, new Pearl Mist and Silver Whisper.
The Welcome Tent will be open to the public this summer to allow residents to mingle with the passengers. Set up as a market featuring local products, the Tent is a place where people can visit and purchase products from local producers and exhibitors.
The population of Trois‐Rivières is invited to join the city’s many choirs in bidding farewell to each cruise ship by singing Ce n’est qu’un au revoir (Auld Lang Syne).
The city is also working with local vendors, including restaurants, to appeal to cruise ship passengers. For example, restaurants are being reminded they should have menus in English available, along with promotions.
