Cruise BC Offers Fuel Friendly Itinerary Options

Cruise British Columbia is promoting Canadian Inside Passage cruises from Vancouver to Victoria, Nanaimo and Prince Rupert, as well as Seattle.

Proposed sample itineraries include three-day sailings from Vancouver to Seattle and Victoria; four days to Seattle, Nanaimo and Victoria; and seven days Prince Rupert, Ketchikan, Nanaimo and Victoria, including two sea days.

The three day sailing is estimated at 270 nautical miles and 40 hours at sea at an average speedo f7.8 knots; the four-day program at 417 nautical miles and 45 hours of steaming at 11.2 knots; and the seven days at 1,313 nautical miles and 115 hours at 13.1 knots.

The member ports of the according are: Vancouver, which was recently voted a top American homeport and offers shorepower; Nanaimo featuring a brand new terminal and an abundance of recreational opportunities on its waterfront; Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia and one of the oldest cities in the Northwest, with expanded cruise terminal facilities; and Prince Rupert, which offers an Alaska experience with outdoor adventure and wildlife in natural settings.
