Kristina Cruises Sells Ship, Ends Cruise Operations

Kristina Katarina (photo: Sergio Ferreira)After financial difficulties forced Kristina Cruises to lay up its 1982-built Katarina cruise ship for the winter and cancel the season, the Finnish company today announced it has sold the vessel to FleetProOcean.

In addition, all plans for 2014 are cancelled and some 147 people have been laid off. The company is said to be concentrating on selling cruises on other ships as a tour operator.
